the burble story

Founder Alexandra Janelli

“I wanted to hypnotize NYC, and then I realized that I was thinking too small.”

When you want to help people create change, you have to start with making it accessible.

It Started with a Private Practice in NYC

It Moved into a Collaborative Beauty & Wellness Spa

In 2015 the idea for Modrn Sanctuary was born while Alexandra was relaxing at the Montauk Salt Cave. Her mission was to curate a collaborative wellness space in the heart of Manhattan that surrounded a beautiful Himalayan salt room. From idea to execution, Alexandra launched Modrn Sanctuary in 6 months and it soon became one of top names in alternative wellness and beauty. Within the 5,000+ square foot space, Modrn Sanctuary melds East and West and old and new to create a unique and soothing harmony. When creating the ambiance, Janelli played with the influence of the subconscious mind by using elements of sensory deprivation, including black crocodile textured walls, to enhance the experience. The main lounge features beautifully sculpted imported antique Balinese doors, a suspended dark wicker chair for lounging, and comfortable seating. The center has a beautiful view of the Empire State building and curated contemporary art from local and European artists is displayed throughout space.

Loved by Shape, Marie Claire, Vogue, Forbes and more, Alexandra continues to grow the Modrn Sanctuary brand, while shining as a female founder and entrepreneur.

The Idea for an App was born.

7 years ago Alexandra had the idea for burble. However, as a young entrepreneur, limited capital and an unfortunate developer experience, the app never launched. Despite its failure to launch, Alexandra stayed true to her mission by continuing to develop the idea and build a following across several platforms.

What is promising is that even 7 years later, there is no app or platform on the market that offers the burble promise of custom recordings and more!
